Causes

It's clear that at this moment the major destructor of the envirnment are the humans, but, there are another reasons, such as: - Burning fossil fuels When we burn fossil fuels like coal,  oil  and gas to create electricity or power our cars, we release CO 2  pollution into the atmosphere. -  Deforestation & Tree-Clearing Plants and trees play an important role in regulating the climate because they absorb carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen back into it.  - Agriculture & Farming Animals,  particularly livstock like  sheep and cattle, produce methane, a greenhouse gas. When livestock  are  grazed at a large scale, the amount of methane produced is a big contributor to global warming.

The effects of climate change are already being felt now, but they will get worse. Global warming has reached approximately 1°C above pre-industrial levels. Every half degree (or even less) of global warming counts. It is important to remember that no one list of the effects of climate change can be exhaustive. It is  very likely  that heatwaves will occur more often and last longer, and that extreme precipitation events will become more intense and frequent in many regions. The oceans will continue to warm and acidify, and global mean sea level will continue to rise. All of this will have, and is already starting to have, a devastating impact on human life. Climate change is and will continue to harm all of us unless governments take action. However, its effects are likely to be much more pronounced for certain groups – for example, those communities dependent on agricultural or coastal livelihoods – as well as those who are generally already vulnerable, disadvant...

What can we do?

Imagen
Why do we need to stop climate change? Because we all deserve equal protection. We are all born with fundamental human rights, yet these rights are under grave threat from climate change. While climate change threatens all of our lives in some way or other, people who experience discrimination are among those likely to be the worst affected. We are all equally deserving of protection from this universal threat. Because there is nothing to lose from acting, and everything to gain. Fighting climate change gives us a chance to put the wellbeing of people first by ensuring a right to a healthy environment. This will give us an opportunity to enhance human rights, for example by enabling more people to access cleaner and cheaper energy resources and create job opportunities in new sectors. Because we have the knowledge, power and ability to stop climate change.  Many people are already working on creative, inspiring and innovative solutions to address climate change. Fr...

Why we need to act now?

Imagen
It is not enough to act. We have to act now. Delayed efforts to mitigate either carbon dioxide or short-lived climate pollutant emissions will have negative, and potentially irreversible, consequences for global warming, rising sea levels, agricultural yields, and public health. Due to their relatively short lifetime in the atmosphere, ranging from a few days to a few decades, short-lived climate pollutants respond very quickly to reduction efforts. If fast and widespread action is taken to reduce these pollutants, it is likely that we could cut methane emissions by 25% and black carbon by 75%, and eliminate high-global warming potential hydrofluorocarbons altogether in the next 25 years. The practices and technologies needed to reduce short-lived climate pollutant emissions are accessible today and if quickly implemented can: Avoid an estimated  2.4 million premature deaths  from outdoor air pollution annually by 2030 Prevent as much as  52 million tonnes ...

Environment

The Environment The envoronment is everything that is surrounding all of us, counting the humans, plants, animals and all the species who are living in this world with a duty. This place is the onlyone who has all the natural sourses to make real the life of all of us. Sometimes everyone doubts if it is really important to take care and to valeu, because the humans are too got used to destroy the nature without thinking that it is our only place to be. May be the humans don't really apreciate all the beautiful things that this place offers to all of us.  Currently everybody is  suffering all the consequences of the global charming, and it's now when we most do something. What is climate change? The planet's climate has constantly been changing over geological time, with significant fluctuations of global average temperatures. However, this current period of warming is occurring more rapidly than any past events. It has become clear that human...
